They are one of the largest energy suppliers in UK with a manpower capacity of more
than 12,000 employees. EDF Energy have around 5.1 million customers and the
company is a subsidiary of the EDF SA, a largest energy group of Europe. EDF
Energy operates various types of power stations that include coal-fired and gas-fired
power stations, private CHP plants and wind farms. The company was formed during
2002 after the acquisition of Seeboard energy, London Energy, SWEB Energy and 2
Coal Fired Power Stations and a CCGT Power Station.

Prices

EDF Energy has effected a 10.2% reduction in gas prices with effect from 15th June
2007. There was no change in electricity prices.

Customer rating
It is claimed, based on a customer satisfaction survey during April 2007, that EDF
Energy secured an overall customer satisfaction of 59% and is placed as second best
energy supplier out of six major suppliers.
