British Gas effected price reduction twice during the year. The latest reduction was
6% for Gas 3% for electricity. This reduction was applied toBritish Gas’s standard and
price guarantee plans only.

Dual Fuel Advance Payment plan

British Gas claims that advance payment can help you to save 10% on gas bill and
4.5% on electricity bill annually. This will certainly save time and effort. Since
British Gas has now removed the standing charge on all their accounts, you only pay
only for what you use. But one has to look this aspect of paying in advance from the
point of view of cash flow and one’s financial conditions.

Customer rating for British Gas

Based on a customer satisfaction survey conducted by uSwitch in April 2007, the
customer satisfaction was of the order of 55%. British gas was rated as best with
